Tampa AC Services FAQs

While there are some minor tasks you can handle yourself, such as cleaning or replacing filters, it’s best to leave major repairs to the professionals. Attempting complex repairs without proper knowledge and tools can lead to further damage and potential safety hazards.

It is recommended to schedule preventive maintenance for your AC at least once a year. This will ensure that any potential issues are detected early on and addressed promptly, preventing costly breakdowns during peak usage times.

Some common signs include inadequate cooling, strange noises coming from the unit, unusual odors when it’s running, frequent cycling on and off, or an increase in energy bills without any change in usage patterns. If you notice any of these signs, it’s best to call a professional for an inspection.

No, a larger AC unit will not cool your home faster. In fact, an oversized unit can lead to short cycling, where the AC turns on and off frequently without completing a full cooling cycle. This can result in higher energy bills and unnecessary wear and tear on the system.

The duration of an AC installation depends on various factors, such as the size of your home, the complexity of the system, and any additional requirements. On average, it can take anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days to complete an installation. It’s best to consult with your HVAC professional for a more accurate estimate based on your specific needs.

HVAC REPAIR FAQs

The drain is becoming clogged mostly because of dirty air filters.  There’s good news, you can help to prevent that from happening as fast by pouring a vinegar/water mixture into the drain line access. Do not put bleach into the drain line because it can damage the PVC pipe.

I have a lot of customers ask me this one!  Most of the time, the reason is that the unit has become inefficient and is therefore consuming more electrical power.

It means that the unit has some type of air restriction or refrigerant leak!  If you see ice on your coils, turn off your AC unit immediately and call us at (813) 476-8858 as we may have technicians in your area that can stop by and help!
